DZM??

Postby jbthumper » Tue Jan 17, 2006 1:52 pm

hi,
i'm just curious...i was noting the wires that connects to the CDI today. I know which wire goes where except for one. The manual marks this wire as "DZM".
From what i know it's an acronym or some sort in German.

Any German speaking friends here care to help?

Thanks. :-)

Postby DAVID THOMPSON » Tue Jan 17, 2006 5:12 pm

DZM goes to the tachometer on my rt125 wire drawing
i do not remember a sm or sx having a tachometer

the wire is labeled signal where it hooks to the tach on the drawing
may not be used for any thing on yours

German word for tachometer is Drehzahlmesser, so DZM is the abbreviation for it.

has anyone come across a simple but accurate Tachometer for the 125sm ?
i considered the full blown computers like the trail tech, but that's a bit too much of a rewiring and connection project for me.
for now i just want to read out the RPMs so i can tune the bike properly. surprisingly stand alone tachs readers seem to cost almost as much as a trailtech computer, so any tips in finding a simple cheap one are much appreciated!
