I'm refurbing a used ES250/2 Carb and noticed the needle has prominent steps on the replacement. They are not wear marks.
Was this the needle used in the lower bhp version?
The needle in my worn original is a smooth taper.
Carbs are both bvf 28 3-1

There are 2 different 28 carbs.
The one is 28N1-1 which has the needle you mentioned and is for the 17,5 hp engine
the other one is the 28N1-3 which is for the 19 hp Version. This one has a needle without steps.
