ts 150 gear crunch noise on engaging

Just started a ts150 that was stored for 26 years but the gears crunch noisily on selection ,I presume the clutch is sticking ?after being idle for so long ,will the clutch free its self or will I need to dismantle it /clean & reassemble, ty newby fletty.

took the clutch cover off and the clutch plates open ok ,so this gear crunching ,(not meshing cleanly noise ) must be the reason it was took off the road 24 years ago,anyone tell me the probable cause so I can get replacement parts ordered,ty fletty

clutch cover off plates loosened ,new gasket, refilled with fresh oil and hey presto just a clunk on engaging now ,fingers crossed
