Oil question,please be gentle!

As a returnee to stinkwheels,my last being a 200 Suzuki that seemed to smoke heavily whatever oil I used in the mix,could someone kindly advise on what oil to put in my ES 250.
Yes I did love the smell of Castrol R and some I know use it in(various proportions)in strokers but all I would like to know is what is the consensus on prolonging the life of the engines in our mature bikes with as little smoke as possible.
Would you suggest plain old mineral,semi or full sympathetic oil as I call it.I have looked through many posts on here and don't see much regarding this.

Rock fully synthetic 2t, My old track bike a Suzuki T500 had little smoke once the motor was warmed up.

I use the cheapest I can bulk buy which is typically fully mineral.

I've been going many thousands of miles now without issue.
