Autolube to PreMix

Sorry if this has come up before, but I have an ETZ 250 that I have been running fine on premix, for years. I just left the oil pump in-situ and blanked the external crankase oil ways off with metal putty.
The question is that I have since heard that it is better to take the oil pump off. Now I want to convert a 251 engine to pre-mix but don't know wether I should remove the pump or not.

why not leave the pump in place , re-route the output tube and make you own scottoiler automatic chain oiler for free,,get where im going here,,

But with the wonderful MZ enclosed chain system the slight leak from the neutral switch is enough to keep the chain lubricated Take the pump out, sell it, spend the money on beer. It's the MZ way

Have carried out this mod. Fed tube to the top of the chain gaiter, and threaded it underneath where it meets the engine cover. Lubes chain fine. Premix also fine.

take the rubber covers off at winter service and clean up the mess...

it can be a fire hazard if a bearing or the brake gets toooo hot

and it also drips on the pavement when parked at the girl friends house ...

this lets her husband know you stopped by without permission ...

I left mine in place, but after letting oil get through the system, I then looped the pipe back around from the output back into the input. It now pumps oil eternally and doesn't size for being dry, if ever I want to put it on.
