ETZ251 piston

Postby vicar » Mon Mar 31, 2014 11:34 am

Hope you can help. I have a Kanuni 251 and its rattling a bit and yes I know they all rattle. I remember someone posting about Suzuki pistons fitting the ETZ 251.
I am looking to take the bore out as far as I can without having to open the crank cases or do any engineering work other than bore out the barrel.
Any ideas

There's a lot of rubbish repeated on the 'net about what does and doesn't fit.

For the real answer give Burwin a call.

Thanks I know some people pontificate who have no idea, but we will have some experienced MZers on here who have been there and done it all. I am looking to increase the torque of my bike for the cost of piston rebore and gasket kit.
I have a big shed full of bikes and bits including jap 250 two stroke singles and twins.
With the open nature of the frame I have considered a complete engine swap.
But I have some Suzuki TS 250 pistons and rings new in the box, and asking might save me some spanner and micrometer time..Vicar

the piston is part of how it plays with the fuel and a good new mz piston is Probably best...
look at how it does if you can make it a proper 301
and decide from there..
keep in mind what you do will Probably make it use more fuel

The Suzuki TS250 piston fits, but you will have to play around with the porting. The MZ racers use them.
