22.5 fixed may be a bit much a lot of fixed timing engines are set at 20 deg before tdc i have a big onan flat twin that's 20deg bf tdc
starting it with a pull rope is a do not try that
i installed a boyer system for a r90s 1974 on it at about 1 deg after tdc and it rope starts and runs great at 1800 rpm
at about 3000rpm its between 25 and 30 deg before tdc
its ran by radio control to charge batteries on a radio repeater at a remote location when the power company lets us down
electric start and propane ...fuel and instruments watched on a tv set about 10 miles from repeater sight
saves road miles in the middle of the night
