TS 250 80s in Cuba

Postby sUs-aLe » Tue Oct 08, 2013 7:29 am

Hi guys, Sorry for my inglish  I have a MZ TS 250 of the 80s in Cuba, I’m now in Spain, the battery has to be changed but the one I have now on the motorcycle is not the original one.
I would like to buy a lithium battery to take to Cuba, but I don’t know which is the original battery size and model, that’s the reason I write you.
I really appreciate somebody here can answer, please. I have no way to obtain this information, it’s necessary know the original battery details to find the compatible lithium version. I'va also asked to Mz n Germany but they did'nt answered... :|

The battery would be a 6v 11ah such as a 6N11A-1B

To use a sealed battery you may need a solid state regulator
ES250 Doppelport, ES250, ES250/1, ES250/2,ETS 250, ES150, ETS150, BK350, IWL Pitty, SR56 Wiesel, SR59 Berlin, Troll............ and thats just the German two strokes!

check to see if you can transport the battery on an airplane
it may not be permitted cargo

if going by boat it may be permitted

but do check before spending a bunch of money

Thanks for the suggestions, I will check with the flight company to see if the battery is permitted on the plane, but I don't think it has to be a problem, that's the same kind of battery used for PC, lithium, not acid http://www.all-batteries.es/bateria-mot ... escription
The only information I have for now is the power of the battery that must be 12v 9ah. I've spoken to the old howner and I descovered that the engine have been replaced for a ETZ250 engine, that's quite typical in Cuba... I might find somebody there in Cuba to take out the battery and give me sizes. Anyway any other suggestion will be welcome! thanks again

To be honest there is a lot of room in the battery compartment. The Original battery is approx 140mm long by 80mm wide and 140mm high. So any battery of similar size and around 8AH capacity will do
ES250 Doppelport, ES250, ES250/1, ES250/2,ETS 250, ES150, ETS150, BK350, IWL Pitty, SR56 Wiesel, SR59 Berlin, Troll............ and thats just the German two strokes!

i am a fan of the biggest ah rating i can get in the battery compartment
alway check battery with volt meter and charge if it has set for a while
it is hard on the voltage reg and alternator if you charge a big one that's run way down
they do great if ran daily and weekly
all 3 of my mz bikes are running 14 ah batteries
