CANT GET 74 TS 250 STARTED

igot a 6 volt battery for it. it is one of those small ones like a moped takes.i have blue spark but i have to put my hand over it to see it.would it be because the battery is to small.?

Not likely, if you have a good spark, in the right place, and enough fuel then you should have ignition.

Is the plug wet (fuel) after a good few kicks of the starter?

Your plug-cap could be breaking down under load (engine compression) and leading to no starting.

have good spark,compression about 135,battery at 6 volts with key on.i put some gas in the cyclinder and it still didnt fire.i am using my weed wacker mixes gas,that shoulnt be the problem should it?

found the problem.i think i need a bigger battery,i have a 6 volt 4a battery but i dont have the alternater hooked up.i am running it direct to the coil.if i hook my battery charger to in it runs great,but when i unhook the charger it runs for about
5 seconds and dies.if i get the alternater hooked up would that battery work.

yep! need bigger battery,need a 6n11a1b.4 amps wont cut it

its not going to be cheap as they do not sell a lot of 6volt MC batteries any more
