FUEL COMMENT

Postby DAVID THOMPSON » Wed Aug 28, 2013 9:27 am

hello
my rt125 was not running well early this summer
had to always carry a screw driver and drain the float bowl every time i fueled up

found a station selling 90 OCTANE REAL GASOLINE...
i still carry the screw driver
BUT HAVE NOT USED IT IN 5 MONTHS
and the bike runs like it did when new
not very fast but GOOD
it gets better mileage on the real stuff also
and it starts after sitting for a week or more without a big fuss and or priming it

Yeah its diabolical.

I use the high octane stuff, not because its high octane, but because it contains less/least ethanol.

I purchased a ATK 605, the owner told me that he only used marine gas because it did not contain ethanol. When I drained the tank, I noticed a pinkish tint to the fuel. A marina is not close by. If anyone can verify, 'no ethanol in marine gas', please let us know.

Thanks,
