skorpion fork drain screw

Postby basser23 » Wed May 22, 2013 5:19 pm

Hope everyone is doing fine....I noticed today a small quantity of oil on the garage floor by the left side of my front fork....I know the seals are seeping slightly after a ride, but this was on the floor...
upon examination I realized that the drain screw..if ya wanna call it that...was wet..so I decided to see how tight it was...not very.I checked the one on the right side, very tight..so I figured I'd tighten it it duh...cannot get it to tighten fully...dont wanna strip it ...now what? Remove and retap? RTV it? Any ideas?
For all Skorp owners, this screw is located on the back side of the lower fork legs, and mine are socket head..may not be stock...they are drilled for safety wire as my bike was raced in the Cup series
of the late 90's...thats why the odometer reads 110 miles :-D

We need photos of what you are talking about. My sports don't have drain screws on the back side, but have hex bolts up in the bottom of the forks holding the damper rod in. If you have drain hole that are external then it is a possibility that you have non-stock forks. Who raced your bike? I probably raced against him.
