jigsaw puzzle

Postby neddyo » Mon Apr 22, 2013 6:09 pm

Hello all,
I'm at the stage of reassembling my ES 250 trophy and desperately need
a parts manual or list, does such a thing exist and if so how can I beg, borrow or steal one,
or even buy one (now that is desperation).
Should I save myself a lot of agro or are the 6V mechanical regulators a good thing.

Cheers, Nick. (down under)

go with solid state and a 12 volt conversion if its a daily driver and save on the grief
if your pocket book can afford it

i never met a bike that did not need 12volts and a bigger battery

Thanks Dave, I'm sure your right, but the mechanical regulator
seems to suit this old iron.

i had a bmw r27 250cc in 1970 i would still have it
but its major problem was a 6 volt battery and coil system
and that made my owning experience a bad one
as my vw bug was also 6volt between the 2 of them not wanting to run
i learned to hate 6 volt systems

I ran my ES with an electronic 6v regulator and it was really good - providing consistent charging all the time. I recently have gone all electric though with an MZB powerdynamo kit which provides electronic ignition and converts the whole lot to 12v. It does run smoother and is much easier to start. However - the ETZ that my wife had for a year or so had the old mechanical regulator fitted and it gave us no trouble.
