bagihra headlamp conversion

Postby wookster » Sun Jan 09, 2011 5:04 pm

thought you may like to know that like many of you have found out, the standard headlamp on a baghira is about as good as a candle just about to blow out. i look about on the web and found the only headlamp unit that would pass an mot was the acerbis cyclop unit. its a bit expensive at £113 but i went ahead and bought one. fitted very easy with a couple of extra stays. looks the bogs dollocks and lights the way like never before. i highley recomend one and will post a pic as soon as i take one.

I love the look of the Cyclops. My only concern is the speedo/dash location. Did you have to modify that or get a different set up? Looking forward to seeing pics of your bike, maybe you could take one seated on the bike looking down at the instrument cluster.
Thanks, Ed

hi guys .sorry for delay cat. had no problems fitting the cyclop ,had to make two side brackets just to stiffen it up a bit ,although im not sure if the last owner had already made a speedo /headlamp frame for it already. it just doesnt look a genuine part but i could be wrong. dont have another bike to check against it. they aint that popular are they. mine is the first one ive seen in ten years.i moved the headlamp unit forward about 5 mm just so there was plenty of turn clearance from the headstock.sorry no pics yet so i will go and take some and see if i can post them in a bit.

That looks really neat. Does the screen give any more wind protection? Is it stable? And are the lights better?

Nice job. :D

hi folks. yes the top shield is stable. hasnt blown off at a ton yet. the lights in the dark are fantastic. 55w dip on the projector beam is good enough on its own.main beam is great.dont think i get any more wind protection. im 6,2". sorry i didnt put any side pics up of the bike but it was dark out and bike was tucked away for the night.you may have noticed i moved the front mudguard down to the wheel, it was doin F, ALL up under the steerer tube apart from spraying me in the face, works a treat now and keeps the engine cleaner. plus i think it looks better anyway, what do you guys think? will put some more pics up when i get home in the light.

hi wookster, have you any close up picks from the side as have just bought a cyclope unit and wondering how/where the chrome brackets fit on bike to hold light in place, also have you kept original bar work for tank side panels, cheers rodge.
