So the answer is no? Even with the carbs and the carb-to-cylinder head boots removed? Argh.
I have learned long ago, while working on vintage bikes, to find another part to modify rather than destroying the original. I understand that most chassis and bodywork parts are not available. I have better luck with my Velos! Well, they did make a few more than MZ did Skorps.
However, I've already opened up the LH intake for the bigger boot. Would you still want it? And I've made a drawing of a battery holder for my welder buddy, would bolt to the strap just above the airbox. I'm using a Shorai, weighs 1.2 pounds, so it will be easy to support.
It's removing the wiring harness that is stopping me right now. It is getting old and brittle!
