YB5L-B is the bog standard battery. there sill be gel-fill and other ones available I'm sure, but if its a bike in regular use I've always found a standard lead acid will do the job
ES250 Doppelport, ES250, ES250/1, ES250/2,ETS 250, ES150, ETS150, BK350, IWL Pitty, SR56 Wiesel, SR59 Berlin, Troll............ and thats just the German two strokes!

A ytx12bs will fit in the battery tray, if you don't mind loosing the strap and tool tray. You need to lengthen the earth cable as the terminals are the opposite way round.

The shop only has CB5L-B Will that fit? The shopkeeper is saying that the C denotes the manufacturer. Is that correct?

They are the same battery, different manufacturers use slightly different codes to avoid copyright issues.
