Oil pump MZ ETZ

Postby yellowduck125 » Fri May 04, 2012 3:39 pm

Hi,

I am going to buy an oil pump for my ETZ 125. My question is: is there a difference between an oil pump for MZ ETZ 125 and for MZ ETZ 250? I am asking as I do not want to but wrong pump.

Regards

Looks expensive to me..... but then Im used to buying whole bikes for that sort of money. There was a whole ETZ engine went for £9.99 last week and an oil pump for £4.99.
You could try www.themzshop.co.uk give them a ring see if they can help. I will have a look at some of my german sites and see if they have any

A long story behind it! the previous owner sized the engine when ran out of oil and then did not bleed the system after putting oil into the tank. He then replaced the entire engine, removed the pump- said that it rubbish and sold the bike to me.

I am a bit fed up with pre-mixing and also want to do a bit of longer distance riding with out having to curry a bottle of oil with me!

And just to let you know people do not try to fit a pump from Aprilia RS 125 -it is tempting as it fits perfectly but in RS the pump is not driven by the crankshaft shaft directey and it has to be rotated opposite way to the original one from MZ in order for it to pump oil.
