ETZ 125 idle issues

Hello all

Bought a 1988 ETZ as my first bike. It needed an MOT so on my way (from picking it up) to the garage it broke down...
The garage have it running again but they are having trouble with the idle on the bike. Its sticking at 3000 or 6000 and not returning back down. After reading through many forums and threads etc I havnt seen any other ETZs with this issue. Can anyone advise? Had the same problem?

Sounds like it's running weak, check the carb air screw 1 to 1.5 turns out.
Check to see if carb mounting is tightened.
Could also be throttle cable too tight.

If it ran ok before it broke down someone has been fiddling too much.

Check the inner carb cable for a broken wire. I had exactly the same problem on a BMW, one of the wires that makes up the inner had broken and jammed inside the outer, preventing the carb from closing.
