Tiddler vs Modern (well more modern) & Ethanol??

Hi,

My acquisition of the ETZ looks like its fallen through - costs involved in collection via courier - as I have no van or trailer.

But never fear have a couple of other MZ's in sights....

TS150 - any thoughts on these as far as bulid quality/uesableness - bear in mind in the past had a TS250 (4-speed) and then a /5. Never had one of the smaller series before.....

Saxon 251/301 (not sure at the moment if it was a 300 or 250) - again little experience of these later bikes; any thoughts compared to the Supa5; and in general build quality/reliabiility and parts availablity.

And does this have a non-metal petrol tank...how is that with the ethanol and its affects which seems to be reported in the VMCC and other clubs as a probnle especially as the ethanol content in fuel increases...

As far as I know, most of the tanks which have had a problem were older fibreglass-based tanks, whereas I think the Saxon uses a plastic tank, as do most cars less than 30 years old! I certainly haven't heard of anyone having a problem.

I'd quite like a TS150. Not powerful by any means, but I think they'll do 55-60 reasonably happily. Not as 'buzzy' as the ETZs.

One thing to be aware of with ethanol in petrol is that apparently it doesn't always mix very well with all types of two-stroke oil. Apparently this isn't a problem with modern synthetic oils though.
