Skorpion clip-on handlebars

Postby kato » Sat Nov 26, 2011 5:36 am

Has anyone on here tried to take apart the two components of the clip-on handlebars fitted on some Skorpion models? They seem to be adjustable, but on my Traveller they are stuck together - big time.
Any suggestions welcome.
Regards Martin

Yep they come apart takes time some gentle heat, some fluid and soft mallet.

You need to be able to hold one part solidly but gently if you follow.
All the best

there a wedge fit hold in vice wrapped in shop rag

and slap smartly on the other end with a soft board
do wear a glove and warm the out side of taper with a butane lighter
a little heat BUT VERY LITTLE

if you break stuff in the process

i included web site for the oem supplier

i repositioned mine when i first got it.
because i can't ride a bike laying down
recycled a set of saxon tour bars but still too wide
the cables were just barely long enough

had to cut the bars in to 2 pieces to fit it together
under the GPS unit note the piece of black gas plumbing pipe to make it all stiff

its all still too wide any one got a scorp tour top tipple clamp for regular bars? in the spares box
