ES250 battery

Postby Dzundzun » Mon Oct 31, 2011 12:25 pm

The battery on my rebuild is dud. Anyone got any ideas for a cheap-ish but robust replacement? I've heard of some folk using batteries from burglar alarms on some bikes for example!

what you need is 6v 11ah or 6v 12ah battery you can't really put anything else because the alternator is designed to charge that battery up

something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VARTA-6N11A-3 ... 0688776536?

The battery is just a big buffer. It doesn't matter how big it is to the alternator, provided you aren't pulling more than the alternator needs. There is also no reason to have a higher capacity unless you need more engine-off capacity (radios and the like.)

What I forgot to mention is that factory put 11ah or 12ah in brand new ES 250 and all MZ equipped with 6v electrics so it must be for some kind of reason

Anyway MZ 6v electrics are not the best so I does matter what sort of battery you put
