I had an S51 Simson when I was 16 as a first bike on the road, loved it even though it kept breaking down!
They aren't bad, will pull nearly 40mph on the flat I found and were fun to ride. About 130mpg too if I remember rightly which is useful!
Only thing is that you will know if the carb blocks due to a mucky fuel tank, the bike becomes painfully slow and can be a recurring issue.
I honestly loved mine and rode it everywhere for the year I had it.
