ETZ 300 Front Tyre Change

Postby BARRIE » Sun Oct 09, 2011 11:54 am

I would like to ask if any Riders have experience in changing the size of the front tyre fitted on the ETZ 300,ie taking it up to 3-25. I realise this would require a change of rim and alteration to front guard bracket which would not be a problem , but before going to the expence I wondered if it would be of any benefit. The reason for asking is to try and improve the footprint on the road especially when riding on loose chippings laid down by the Cheepo Councils.

Can't see a huge improvement although it will slow the handling I would expect. The DDR army bikes used to run the same front and back but I am not sure what size. Personally I run a 3.00 on the front

300 was the common size from the 1930's to the late 60's
then 325 and 350 started showing up
my 1995 Saxon Tour uses 300x18 which is hard to find now
so i am running a 90/90x18 front
rear on bike is 110/80x16 on alloy wheels F and R
but they require
tube type tires
