Hi,
just staring to think about sorting my latest purchase. On of my things to do is clean the exhaust. What is the procedure for clearing the internals.
I have heard caustic soda mentioned?
Can anybody shed some light?

MZ's recommended cleaning method was if I remember correctly, 10 miles high speed on the autobahn,
silencer should get hot enough to burn out the crud, if used occasionally on the motorway.

do not get near aluminium with caustic soda
it will make it disappear in just minutes

I like the idea of a burn for ten miles to get rid of the crap. Unusual that the East Germans would subscribe to the Italian tune uo method.
