TS / ETZ 250 cylinder/piston

Postby ACUK » Thu Aug 25, 2011 12:32 pm

Hello all, I have recently bought a 1980 TS250 which I am trying to get running again after it has been left in a shed for years and abused by the previous owner.

My current TS has some damaged fins on the cylinder, I am sure it will still run ok, but I have been offered a ETZ250 engine with a broken gearbox.
The ETZ cylinder looks ok, so I was wondering if it is possible to fit a ETZ cylinder/piston to a TS engine, they look very similar, but I am wondering if it is possible before I start taking things apart?

Thanks

Alex

I think the answer is no,
Check the Cylinder Head bolt spacings the ETZ are wider if I remember rightly,

If you want to go 12v use the ETZ engine, the TS gearbox will swap over its the same, just remove the oil pump and blank off the opening.
