Christmas cracker screwdriver or `Land of the giants`(remember it?)hand? I`ve always wondered where the idle mixture screw was on my `05 Mastif-Never needs much choke, even on the coldest of days, sooty exhaust AND only ever a maximum of 55 mpg.Is it REALy between the carbs?

It is on the front of the left carb close to the intake boot. From the side it looks like a metal bar, but if you get down and look (or use a small mirror) you will see the screw up in the tube. Turn it in (CW) till it seats (go easy) and then back it out (CCW) as many turns as you need (spec is 2.5, but mine seems to run best at 4). For you maybe best to start turning it in until engine stumbles and then just back it out a bit? Good luck.

2001 Traveller. For anyone else going down this road... Here is a shot of the carb kit I got off of eBay. Worked fine. Only issue I had was I had to file the upper neck of the needle seat down 1 mm for the needle to seat properly.

Good luck.

What size is the fuel line for the Skorpion?

Postby pwillikers » Sat Jan 08, 2011 8:01 pm

What size is the fuel line for the Skorpion? I scoured the manuals and searched here but didn't find any information. I bought some 1/4" and it's a tad large. I see there is both 5mm and 6mm available.

Thanks.

Not to question your measurements, but a 3/8 would be too large almost 10mm ,5mm is about 3/16" :)

Duh, I only made it 9 days into the new year without making a mistake. Actually that is a record for me! Yes 3/16 or 5mm i.d. BTW I used Motion Pro gray on mine.

How do you fix your Yamaha raptor 660 carb it keeps bogging

Postby jacie flatt » Thu Jan 12, 2012 4:44 am

It sounds like your carbs are set wrong. You need to adjust your air fuel mixture screw on the bottom of the carbs by the bowl. You won't need to take the bowl off to get to the adjustment screw. Turn the screw all the way in til lightly seated then then count the turns out. Set both carbs at 2 turns out. When it bogs down pull the choke and if it runs better then you are not getting enough fuel. If it gets worse then it is getting to much fuel.
