Anyone using a maintainance-free battery in their MZ?

Postby comanche91 » Sun Aug 15, 2010 10:34 pm

The old lead-acid battery is dying and a PITA to maintain, so I'm thinking of replacing it with an AGM (not gel cell) sealed battery. Have located several brands that will fit my the original 14L-B2 battery size in my Silvy. I can foresee no problems using it with the rather primitive charging system on the MZ, but thought I'd ask if anyone is using one first. :-D

Not on the Skorp, but I had one on the Chinabike...talk about a bodgy charging system.
It performed well, no issues.
That's what'll go in the Skorpion when the time comes.

Kinda/sorta...it was my ticket back into motorcycles. Hadn't ridden in a while and didn't want to dump a load of cash on one if I wouldn't keep it...
$1000 cash and away I went. :D

looks is matter of taste
best bike ever made was a 1975 bmw r 60/6
ugliest contest winner
same bike
but its still the best daily driver ever made
cfmoto v3 is for riders with a very short pocket book
but then i like the "ricknbilly" best

Yep, agree with you regarding the BMW R60s, but did not think they were ugly. Had a couple of them. Just didn't like the loud KLUNK! when shifting gears. But at least you knew it went into gear. :-D

Some of the ugliest bikes IMHO were the MZ ES Trophy series. But they are so ugly, they almost look good in an art deco way.
