carb info for 125cc but of intrest to all

Postby DAVID THOMPSON » Mon Aug 08, 2005 10:20 pm

carbidle
The other day my rt125 started acting like i had a bad load of gas again
So off to the work shop to see what is wrong
when i get the carb off to clean it the idle fuel to air screw is missing
see picture below

i went to a local atv shop and was lucky and found the missing part
in his junk box

mine seems to run ok at 2 turns out it is very hard to adjust on the
bike (twoturns)

i made a wire from a solder lug and a piece of house #12 wire
I put a 10 cm piece in a vice and spin the other end with a drill
the copper wire will get very hard
use this to make a safety to keep the idle needle in the hole
i was lucky i lost my needle
most people would find it in there FLAT TIRE :smt040

you guy's with other type bikes may want to safety wire this part as well..
as it may be hard to find on a sunday afternoon 100 miles from
the house ....and any one following you does not want it in his tire

great idea. while on topic, i totally know what you mean by "very hard to adjust on the
bike (twoturns)"

how did you do it?

took carb off did 2 turns set safety wire in place
put carb back on

by the way that wire in drawing is copper
put a piece of number 12 copper wire one end in a drill other end in vice pull hard
and pop trigger on drill it spins the wire making it hard use that and a wire spade
to make the safety so you do not loose the needle

USE SAFETY GLASSES PLEASE
