Tire bead seating question

Postby Nozz » Sat Jun 26, 2010 3:02 pm

I just changed a back tire, and have one portion that the bead seems to be riding low, or inside. I've tried overinflating, strapping a tiedown around it and everything else is popping into place. Any suggestions? It happens to be the paint marked light point on the tire. Thanks!

Did you lube both sides of the tire bead up before inflating the tire tube?

remember if its the alloy rims of the cast wheel like my saxon tour
they require tubes even though tubeless will mount up

They all require tubes Dave, including the Silver Star spoke wheel. That has nothing to do with lubing the tire beads when mounting. :-D

After I posted this I went back after it with a hammer and 2x2 . I had lubed up the rim, but I went back and added more to that section and blew it up until it seated OK. Now to get it in balance... Task for another day. Thanks!
