nothing at the starter switch mz rt125

Postby timebandit43 » Tue Feb 02, 2010 2:05 am

Hi all
Well after getting the rt125 going (carb issue) had 2 days with it and then when the bike was ticking over, I adjusted the choke lever and the bike cut out on me.
When I went to start it there was nothing at the starter switch, battery is fully charged, is there any specific area I need to be looking.
thanks all again,

steve

Hi,
What happens when you press the starter?
a/ Do you hear a clicking sound?
b/ Does the starter turn at all?
c/Have you checked the fuses?
d/ Are the warning lights lit or is anything electrical working at all?
e/ Have you at some time removed the petrol tank (maybe a loose wire was disturbed)?

Please let us know the answers to the above otherwise we will be guessing.
Thanks.

David.

check kill switch on right handle bar
make sure bike is in neutral and also try to start with kick stand up
when working on carb did you make something in the starter relay fuse area loose
there close to each other
are the wires tight on the battery and also on the bike side like the ground

hi all
thanks again for the quick response, well all instrument panel lights are on, front light worked but no back light when tapped the back lens it came back on, then tried the starter switch and that started working again, so seems like a bad connection at the rear end.
thanks again regards
