Diode Failure

Postby Tonybloke88 » Sun May 28, 2006 4:07 am

Does anyone know where the Diode is physically located in the wiring loom on a Baggy?

Mine has failed leaving me without any side lights! but the park lights work, which suggests that the diode is the cause of the problem.

I found it!!

If any one else needs to find it then the diode is taped inside the loom. Its marked with a wrap of yellow tape and is half way along the top tube. When you open the loom you will see 4 grey wire comming from the front and one going from the rear all meeting inside a peice of black shrink wrap. The diode is inside the shrink wrap.

Mine had broken in half! so I routed a couple of wires back towards the air box and fitted a more robust item on spade connectors.

Thanks for that - details of the item you fitted, where you got it etc would be good :D

Diode!

Postby TrashBagh » Wed Jun 14, 2006 11:21 pm

Hey I had to replace two broken diodes in my harness. I was able to replace them with ones I got from radioshack... they only carry one diode which is rated at 3amps. Those are the ones you need

Would anyone know where the tail light / instrument light diode is located on a Skorpion Replica?

I removed mine and redid the wiring through the switch on the right handlebar. Now the lights work as they should.
