Igni Tech CDI

Postby OLDMTNCARVER » Tue Apr 21, 2009 10:33 pm

I recently asked on the 660 thread "cdi modification" if anyone had comments to add helping me with something that I over looked, testing the components and harness, as my 2001 Baghira produces no spark, I had no reply. I did see that many read the post, thank you for your interest and time.
I did a search on google for the CDI produced by Igni Tech that is able to be programed that Bill Jurgenson and folks he knows have used, Bill great information.
I talked to Galen Miller at Bikeworx but he seemed unfamiliar with this product. Also the only business that I found importing this system is in Southern California and the business is Ducati specific.
Any information for the correct harness and order numbers for this to be a "plug and play" would be of great help.
As I am in the US, specifically California, information and / or help with the process of purchase is also of great help.
Regards,
Robert

Even though I have no direct experience with IgniTech products I know that it is used by some Supermono racers in Sweden at least.

I think that if you go to their website and take a look at the FAQ section you will find the info you need, sending the company an e-mail with any qustions that you might have, they do speak English.

I am sure they know exactly the specs for producing a unit for a Skorpion and can advice you on basic settings etc. As far as I understand they make a unit for the Skorpion that plugs directly into the Skorpion harness with no mods needed, ask them to be sure.

Quote from their webpage; http://www.ignitech.cz/english/aindex.htm

"We need mostly only type of bike. For example: Yamaha XTZ660 and year of manufacture.

Some bike has more modification. For this bike is useful if you could send us:
a) bike type, and year of manufacture
b) Photo of original ignition, photo of connectors, color of wires on particular pins.
c) Wiring diagram if possible.
d) Photo of pick up system (pick up and pulse rotor) in TOP position. This we need only seldom.
e) Another parameters for example maximum revolution (limiter) etc.

How can I buy?
a) Send us mail with your demand and information you have and address.
b) We ask you about another information if we need them.
c) If all details are clear, we send you invoice.
d) You can pay to our bank account or by PayPal.
e) We send you ignition by mail."

Anders,

Thank you for your imput.
I have purchased a CDI from them though I have yet to install it.
I am very impressed with the quality of communication and speed of shipping, it took only seven days to get it and the software over here to the mountains in central California.
I'm still checking the harness assembly as I have time, before the CDI installation.
The only comment I'd make is a thank you to Bill Jurgenson and the folks on this forum, were it not for you I'd have never known that a product like this existed.

Highest regards,
Robert

Robert,

let us know how it worked out for you when you have installed it.

My Skorpion more or less died on me yesterday, did run fine on saturday, Non starter on sunday even with start gas, which is unheard of. Weak spark as far as I can tell, have to check the harness.
