Hi,
I have an ETZ 251. It has been off the road for a year. I took it out today and the front (disk) brake is very poor. The calliper is only a couple of years old. Are there any tricks anyone knows of to get it working properly?

it may use same pads as my saxon tour ebc fa18 some bmw models used same pad
try sanding the pad a bit then ride it and see if it seats back in

is the lever feel normal? Would help to know if it is hydraulics, or poor friction performance.

It is not the hydraulics. The lever is not spungy or soft. I took the pads off and they have been soaked in oil. The history of the bike is that I had an accident on it last year. It was recovered from the roadside after the crash and the recovery company stole my tax disk, the battery, some of the wiring, and now I find they have soaked the pads in oil. There is no hydraulic leak from the brake. No wonder the Policeman who attended the scene was asking me if I had any friends with a van!
