Today in north Texas we had another day of 40mph winds, with higher gusts. I took the Skorpion out for a little run, noticing that it felt like there was a lean surge beginning at about 50mph. By 65mph it stumbled badly, feeling exactly like running out of gas. In fact, it was. The ram effect from the wind and speed forced so much air that I guess the jets simply could not flow enough fuel. Turning around to run with the wind to my back, all was well. Ah, the advantages of fuel injection.

That happened to me once with a Kawasaki Eliminator with a modded airbox (under seat intake changed for cold air rampipe at side). Ran fine below about 40mph, better than standard actually but much above that the mixture went waaaay too lean.
