Folks,
Well I picked up a Skorpion frame, sub frame and triple clamp (with clear TX title) for the cost of 3 cases of good beer on flea bay. Assuming its straight I going to embark on a long term project to add another Skopion to my garage. At this point I'm considering building it into a light weight Sunday AM scratcher and track bike.
Thanks to Bill and others I aware of some of the wheel opions using stock forks and swing arm like the tz250r/tz250, yzf, and others but I figure it's easier to do an entire front and rear replacement.
I considering a Yamaha R6 front end and rear subframe with wheels ( 99-02). It sounds like others have done simular conversions with a limited amount of machineing, bearing replacement, and shock rebuild. The parts can also be had on ebay for about $500-800 and sound like their light weight. I've also considered a 03-07 R6 set up but not sure if the rear swing arm will fit.
Looking for advise for these mods or some other complete suspension replacement ( available in the US). I've also considered parts from a Aprilia rs250, cbr600 F3 or Ducati Monster but I'm not sure if there as cost effective or light weight.
Thanks in advance
Doug
