Hi .......
My 251 has a mag dyno thingy fitted works great and despite having no battery the indicators work fine.
They still flash with main beam and brake lights on as well (slow down at a slow tick over but still work) Fantastic bit of kit I am going to try led bulbs and a modern flasher unit as the std bulbs and flasher unit are only rated to 10 Watts .

I asked for info regarding alternative pistons a while ago because it was rattling and thanks for your answers. I pulled the head and barrel off the bike and found mayhem had visited . the motor had seized in the past smearing alloy from piston onto the barrel the top two rings were jammed in the piston groves the bottom ring was doing a good job on its own though. I cleaned the alloy off the bore and sanded the piston freed the rings spent a lot of time getting it as good as I could.

Its all back together still rattling but running more than a bit better, its still on a std bore size so I will treat it to a new piston rings and a re-bore if it give more trouble

Glad to hear your problems are resolved.

I'm intrigued by your smart looking bike. What tank do you have on there, and how have you fabricated the exhaust? It all looks great. :D

Thanks for your interest, the tank and exhaust have been hand made by a previous owner. the seat is Yamaha TRX850 the screen zxr750 turned upside down and trimmed a bit. the mudguards are British. The bike started life as a Kanuni 251 with cast wheels and nasty styling.

I bought the bike a couple of years ago as a half finished cafe racer project from eBay it came with a big pile of bits, all I did was fit the bits I liked and ebayed the remains to end up with what you see now.Itried a big screen but it was too big so its been replaced by the Kawasaki screen

I do have a problem with it though after using the bike for a few hundred miles it has developed a wobble despite being a sweet ride previously. The swinging arm wheel bearings etc etc are all OK I have reduced/increased Tyre pressures to no avail. It must be Tyre wear I would like to change the rear wheel to 18 inch only for the look and better choice of tires.

I am on the Lancs Merseyside border (England) if anyone has a wheel for sale

have a look at how your tires are seated on the RIM if you have lost air ..then refilled them it may have reseated wrong..

my rt125 front looses air but looks ok but when you get to 2nd gear you know it needs air
your all over the road and headed for the ditch

and look at this
K66 4-Season Scooter Tire
The K66 is a 4-season tire that delivers superior grip and performance in every situation.
Sizes:
110/70 – 16 M/C 52S TL

Tried some thing the other day after reading motor cycle news and what TT teams do to increase tank range for the races. the article said they blew the tanks and got another 2 liters in.
Crazy idea or what, my tank only held 1 1/2 gallons looks great but no range.

So sealed the monza fuel cap with a Aldi bag and connected the airline from my compressor to the fuel tap( I removed the fuel first ) and gave it 50 psi watching it expand was scary, although I was some distance away.Yes I am a bit crazy.

My tank now holds 2 gallons is a bit taller and an inch longer, I have had to move the seat an inch further back. Yes it could have exploded with the pressure and ignited the petrol fumes in the tank and leveled the garage killed the cat and me, but we survived.
