MZ/MuZ Riders

i have a unhealthy sounding clutch noise which perhaps somebody could help me identify. engine running in neutral clutch out high-ish frequency whirring sound, when the clutch is operated and held after about 5 seconds the noise sound gradually fades until after 10 seconds is no longer detectable.
Alternatively pull clutch and immediately select 1st with clutch still in sound disappears. Whilst riding there doesnt appear to be any significant problems, although I am still coming to terms with the gear change procedure that is to say physically lifting the foot off the peg and hooking the lever up. Is this typical ?

i think i may have found it "abnormales Geräusch, das beim Ziehen des Kupplungshebels verschwindet" - too much axial play between primary drive pinion and clutch drive. Fix is replace the 22x34 thrust washer with one of the three available sizes until play is reduced to between 0.05 and 0.1mm, this

but in order to get this I will need the clutch puller. Hmmm. If this diagnosis is correct is anything else likely to have failed or worth replacing whilst i'm in there ?

Yes - the gear change on all Trophy's is an aquired art and then it's still fairly rubbish but they are tough old things and will clatter bang and make horrible noises as they go into gear for a long time to come!
I had to replace that washer on mine a while ago too, whilst it was apart I stripped and cleaned the plates but that was about all extra that needed doing to be honest. I got mine from Gabors MZ in Berlin - they sell loads of tricky to get parts but it was expensive because they don't do paypal so I had to pay for a bank transfer.
