Hi All,
I was looking at a ES250/2 tonight which had a 5 speed gearbox, it had the correct cases so someone has retro-fitted the later 5 speed cluster. The owner bought it like this so couldn't help me. He said it selected gears well (unlike my ES250!)
Does anyone know if anyone else has done this conversion and how? A 5 speed box and the later gear selector mech. would really transform the Trophy!

There was a bloke in the Yorkshire MZ section whose name escapes me who worked out how to do this but he is no longer with us. Could be one of his. He was a wizz with the lathe and milling machine.
The MZ Eskort ran with 5 speed cluster in the early cases but they are rarer than a rare thing
ES250 Doppelport, ES250, ES250/1, ES250/2,ETS 250, ES150, ETS150, BK350, IWL Pitty, SR56 Wiesel, SR59 Berlin, Troll............ and thats just the German two strokes!

Could it be an ISDT replica bottom end maybe?

Maybe there was an engine of the TS 250/1 fitted ?
The case looks like the ES/2 case, but has 5 gears...
I had such an engine in my ES 250/2 sidecar bike..
