MZ TS 250 Crank Seals

Hey Folks,
I'm in the process of replacing the crank seals on my '74 TS 250, and I've noticed that the book says that the seals should measure 30 x 62 x 10. The old ones I took out measure that size as well, but when I look on the web, everybody is selling seals that measure 30 x 62 x 7. Does it matter which size? Is the wider seal better? Why are we not using the original size called for in the book?
Thanks,
Mr. Matt
