Hi Det! it may not be an MZ but it has it's own horrible charm! Is it home made? I had a Jupiter 5 and sidecar many years ago. I managed about 300 miles on it before a piston disintegrated and destroyed the engine!

Now is that the comfy chair - or isn't it?
That looks like the Planeta twin, a 350 for which they claimed 25hp. When I was slightly younger, I longed for the Planata Sport, which is the lighter 350 single, with 32hp claimed. It never happened.
It's a good question if it's home- or factory-made. In a Russian rural setting, I can see merit in a vehicle like that, so it might be factory-made? I searched & found several, but none quite like it. Yours is longer than the others I saw, it seems to be extended.

I think the Planeta was a twin port single, the Jupiter was the twin cylinder engine. Always fancied a Planeta Sport too, and I almost bought the only IZH Springbok in the UK.

Hi Guys
As far as I'm aware, all Planetas were single cylinder, twin port 350's. I have 5 of them and they are all the same. The Jupiters were twin cylinder.
As for factory or home made...I've not been able to find any info on factory made trikes and looking at the design and workmanship, although it is very well done, I'm pretty sure this was built in someones garage. I can't tell what year it is as the frame was (brush?) painted in the past and cutting around the vin plate wasn't deemed necessary. Once I start to restore it I'll need to get some paint stripper on it.In the meantime, although the previous owner started it for me, it doesn't actually run, so first order of the day is clean the carbs and inside the tank which is a bit rusty and check the usual electrical bits to see if I can get it to tick over. It also needs throttle and brake cables as they are rusty or snapped.
It's been off the road since 1997, however was used around the farm after that although not for a long time.
Bulgaria is a poor country especially outside the cities, so the people make do and mend. This gives rise to some seriously inventive pieces of engineering and a really practical outlook on life. It's how life should be.

Maybe I used the wrong name. Looking it up, in NL both bikes were sold under the brand name Jupiter:
On the RH side what was likely therealche's unfortunate outfit, sold as Jupiter Twin, left the Jupiter Planeta Sport. And then there's also the possibility that the writer of that book was inaccurate...
Yes Det, yours looks very much like it could be used on a farm - particularly with that seat!
Maybe it's nice to show your bikes in
viewtopic.php?f=19&t=11070&sid=49bd4063ec3df4da369b464a964b0ffe#p52989?
Edit: looking in another book of that era, I see:
So in Germany they were sold under the name ISH, and indeed the Planeta being the single, and the Jupiter the twin.

That looks like an interesting book but wouldn't be any good to me as it's not in English.
Is it possible for an admin to move this thread or should I start again?

Moved!
Well, you can see the specs. PS = PK = HP, boring en slag = Bohrung und Hub = bore and stroke, but indeed, translating a .jpg is more difficult.

My IZH was a Jupiter 5 which almost looked modern!
With one of these sidecars but on the right side! (and by right side in mean the left side!)

Liquid cooled twin, very slick! Bikez gives that one for 2004:
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/izh_jupit ... 3_2004.php, but they are not always correct (single cylinder?).
Did you ever find out why a piston disintegrated? As it does look like a nice bike!
