air filter

Hi out there. Iam servicing the air filter,?? can i use thin eng oil rather than the exspensive air filter oil. Is there an alternative filter available. C heers Jim. :-D

Air filter oil is espcially designed to be sticky and to attract particals from the air. Saying that I have used 2 stroke oil in the past as this is designed to burn and leave minimal deposits in the engine.

Don't go cheap on a air filter or the oil.

A recharge K&N kit is only $10! :shock:

yes, buy good quality air filter oil. A top end can be destroyed in no time by dirt. I like the spray on type.

:-D Thanks everyone for the advice,called in a car accesory shop and wow and behold, :oops: purchased spray can of k/n air filter oil for £5. thanks again safe miles,( have covered 8000miles in 7. months ) and it is like a good wine, it gets better with age. Cheers Jim.

I know it's an old thread but for future reference.

Mastiff air filter:
'Twin Air' filters for the MZ Mastiff,the part no you require is 154512

.......or as I did by luck find the same filter as listed for the KTM SC/Duke and Maico 98/03.

No-Toil air filter maintenance kit - aerosol bidegradable filter oil, filter grease and cleaning fluid (try MX shops :wink: )
