rear chain guide

tried to remove my rear chain guide to give it a good clean. the one below the swing arm on rear of bike. took the aluminium part off but the plastic guide is in one piece, this must have been fitted when the chain was split. any advice how to get it off or has anyone completely removed the chain guide on a baghira........ I know some one posted a reply to say that there is not one on the mastiff........
