Need a new speedometer for my baghira....
From the parts book, the MZ speedo drives are indicated as 9/22 or 11/27 gears = 1:2.44
All the speedometers on the after market are either 1:1 2:1....

Is a 2:1 ratio the correct speedometer ?
What happens to the .44 of rotation is that sacrificed to friction in the assembly?

Bloody hell...talk about get technical and confuse the situation! Your speedos broken dude, just buy a replacement and be done with it! Goto Grahams Motorcycles online and just order the part...no need to discuss the ins and outs of it all really is there? Come on dude, forget all the ratios and all that business, buy replacement or get yourself a Digital speedo and give yourself a head-ache...LOL!

There are no questions which too minute for me....for those looking for a replacement speedometer :
Honda XL600 and KTM LC4 use the same Nippon Seki speedo on a 17' wheel. There are also the Trail tech
digital solutions for about $180 with the idiot lights.

Stock replacement is like $243....

The $59 solution here : is 2:1 is intriguing....
