Hi,
I am going to service the front end of my `02 Baghira and i am wondering what is the best weight of heavier oil to refill the forks with in order to try and eliminate the huge amount of front end dive even under moderate braking. Also has anyone fitted an aftermarket tacho to these bikes ? If so what kind was it.

Changing oil isn't going to prevent front end dive. The oil is there to serve as damping control. The spring is responsible for holding the bike up, so replace that.

I've gone round about changing the springs too, but I figure if I make the bike more street oriented, as in street sag and street dive, it will be too firm for rough and gravel roads no? Right now the bike has 280mm of suspension movement, putting in say 0.9 kg/mm springs like I would for a street bike with maybe 125mm of travel would have to eliminate a lot of that travel, and usefulness. Not that I use that much travel, but think I use 150-200 normally.

Hi,
I do not have an issue with the ride height of the bike but as i said it is only when i brake that i have the problem. I thought that by changing to a heavier grade of fork oil this would stop the front end diving so quickly on the compression stroke ??
