How do you remove the ignition switch assembly

Hi all, I have another question. How do you remove the entire ignition switch from the top triple tree? I am getting really close to installing my inverted front fork. This necessitates changing the trees as well as the forks. I plan to make a bracket to mount the ignition switch to the steering head but I need to get it off the original tree. As an alternative, I guess I could get a different switch and rewire.

The frontend I am installing is from a 2001 Yamaha YZ426. It looks massive but is about the same weight as the baggi frontend, maybe a little lighter. The YZ fork legs are 58mm upper and 46mm lower. They were originally 2 inches longer than the baggi but they are being altered by the Yamaha dealer to be 1.5 inches shorter than the baggi. They are changing the spring rates for the weight of the baggi and my weight is also being taken into consideration. The preliminary price quote for the work is $150-$200. I also have just installed a set of adjustible dogbones. When it is all back together I will try to post some pictures.

a lot of the switchs are installed with a antitheif screw
and must have the head drilled off or removed with a punch to turn them in reverse

Thanks, I will chuck up the drill press and drill a hole into the fasteners and try an easy-out.

thank you for the feed back it will help others to get the job done

including me as the switch on my saxon tour is getting funny

one thing you should do is learn how to hot wire your own bike

the key in the saxon tour got funny and i had to hot wire it to get home one day ...
then my buddy the locksmith sprayed some stuff in it and it
works ok now but plan to change it as it has always been funny to work

:smt022 picture of me crying at how much it is going to cost for a new key set and gascap
