More grunt

Hi all , my first post here .

I have a Skorpion sport , I love the handling but would like more power .
It currently has a Quill can and I have removed the air filter , this has made
it very free reving , and the Quill sounds lovely .

I want to go further but don't really know the best place to start .

Big bore and flowed head ? , anyone got any experience of this , what difference does it make ? .

Welcome Early.

A 102mm rebore and piston works wonders with a free flowing can and a cam reprofile.

You need to work out if you want out and out performance, or performance with reliability. And also how deep your pockets are!

My rebuild, which included a new conrod, camchain (both uneccessry, but as the motor was stripped....), rebore & 102mm piston, a little head work and new springs and gaskets all round, cost me £500 from an engine builder specialising in Yam 660 engines who I trust 200%.

Where in the World are you? What airbox mod have you done exactly?

Sorry I should have gave my location , I'm up in Lancashire ( UK ) .

As for the airbox , I've got rid of the snorkel on top of the airbox and removed the air filter . I've experimented with jets / needle positions
and found standard jets and needles in the middle groove ( on both carbs )
to be best .

With this set up it feels as though I have lost a little torque but gained power in the last third of the rev range

Can I ask who did your engine work ? .

Engine work done by Steve Ruth in Suffolk. Note that the cost of the rebuild was on a motor that had done 78,000, so I had it completely stripped, all tolrences checked-everthing was within tolerance!-rebuilt, then the engine vapour blasted and repainted (it looks like a new engine now). I'll have to swap it with my standard Sport motor now, then get the Baggi motor to him to do-will only need the top end doing, which he reckons will cost around £300-£350 to do, seeing as it has less than 10,000 on it, and I know the botom end is perfect.
