Post info here on parts that you Baghira owners have fitted to improve your bike!

Reminder: keep this thread focused on specific parts (with relevant numbers, prices, info, etc). That way it's all here in one thread and people won't have to hop around looking at a bunch of threads. Posting photos (keep'em below 600 pixels wide!) where relevant will be helpful to others too.

I'll go first:

I installed an LED tail light bulb I had laying around. These are nice because they use minimal power and rarely if ever burn out. They also run cooler. IIRC it cost me $20 but I've had it for 3 years and on several bikes.

Just ordered a new Acerbis gas cap thru my MZ dealer (SF MOTO), the Acerbis unit looks identical to the one on the Baghira and is only US$14.99 - versus the US$35 the MZ factory gets. I'll repost here if it doesn't work tho.

Noticed the 125 Supermoto comes with rubber pads on the same exact footpegs as the 660 Baghira... so I ordered a pair of the rubbers (US$15) to try them out. The bare steel dirt style pegs seem a little to aggressive for street riding, and they are chewing up my boots (plus I'd hate to have one land on me in a spill). Might damp some vibration as well.

I'm interested in the Acerbis Handguards, what make/model are they for and where did you get them?

Most useful in the scrub in Oz.

Looking at your sight reminds me of how much I want to ride the land down under (do the women really "glow"?)<g>.

The brush guards are the "Rally 2" model. Brian (guy on this site) told me these had metal behind the plastic and were the strongest ones. However when they showed up they were all plastic, perhaps Brian can clarify just which ones he has on his bike. They are available directly from Acerbis or your local dealer. I like them. They are not for a specific model. They fit my Baghira well, it's necessary to cut the little balls off the end of the levers however. I have a Skorpion in my garage also, and I can tell buy looking at it, they would not fit it. Were you going to put them on your Traveller?/

These brush gaurds are no good for the Baggi in teh UK then. If we cut the bals off of the ends of the levers the bike would fail our annual safety, checks that are required once the bike reaches 3 yeas old.

I have Acerbis rally brush, ordered them from touratech. The difference from the universal ones are that touratechs includes a metal spacer/distance. It fits with no problem, no need to cut brake/clutch lever.
One thing, on Touratechs European site it says: ATTENTION: "Works only in connection with a handle bar riser"
But not on Touratechs US site.

Nice example of a painted Acerbis front supermoto fender. I like the look of these bikes in silver, very regal! Did your M4 come with the midpipe going from the can to the dual pipe header? or a short dogleg piece that you slip over the cut stock pipe? Thanks

I purchased some of these Cycra Hand guards for my 04 BP. I need black barkbusters to mount them to now. They are made for yamahas but look to be made for this bike. The labels are removeable. The National F-18 fairing is another project that I have ahead of me.

The Cycra handguards look good! Good that the logos peel off. Keep us posted on how those fit, and the fairing mod too.

You didn't happen to get any specific info on the mods that ebay bike had, didja? Here's my comments

- Add'l Lights: definitely a need. I am thinking it'd be better if they turned with the bars though. Hella makes some affordable small lamps but the mounts are awkward.

- Fork brace: is this really needed?

- Skid plate: the Touratech skidplate is frikkin ugly. I like the idea so I am gonna make one but it will hopefulluy look better.

- Homemade dogbones: Great way to lower your suspension to just the right height. I'm thinking 2 tie-rod style adjusters would be nice here, but wouldn't want anything fragile. Any engineers here? Just how much stress do those dogbones have on them?

- bullet hole decals: this is played out... see my VFR photo in the Album section. Although the toy guns on my VFR were kinda cool...

One of the ebay bikes pics shows a BMW style 12v outlet fitted into the LH sidecover (that black cap near the bullet hole decals). Good idea for heated vest or whatever. I have one I am going to install but on a Baghira Black Panther I think it would be better mounted up near the steering head somewhere. I use a heated vest a lot and on fast rides tend to move around, usually unplugging the vest if the cord is not routed out of the way completely.

I'll attach a good pic I found of an Italian pipe (Figaroli) on a German Baghira. Now that's a tucked-in pipe.
