Holy crap!!! This sounds promising. It can't be the KLR250 (the lever of which looks quite a bit different from the Baggy lever), but it may well be the KLX250S or KLX300R. Each of those for the last few years (at least since 2000) has a lever that looks like this:



Hell, for a mere $9.00, I'm going to give this a shot. I just ordered one from T-R. Should get here in 4 to 7 days. I'll let y'all know if I've found the Holy Grail.

Just one question, aah5: WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN ALL THIS TIME?!?!?!?!? I've been driving myself crazy looking for a shorty lever to fit my handguards.

I can't type anymore. I've got to keep my fingers crossed until this lever comes in.

Can't promise that the Kawasaki lever will be the right one for your situation as there seems to be differences between the bikes we get in Australia and we dont get some of the models you get. I just spent a day going around to all the dealers going through their stock of levers until I found the Kawasaki one that fitted my master cylinder. Bring back the days when levers were interchangeable between most makes and models, just seems to be a endless variety now.

OK, back to the drawing board. Although configured very similarly, the replacement lever for the Kawasaki has the same problem as the Grimeca replacement (i.e., the actuator arm is too short). So, I'm the proud owner of a $9.00 hunk of aluminum that does not fit the Grimeca M/C.

It's looking like there will be no convenient solution (as, I'm sure, many others who have gone through the same fruitless search could have told me). Since there aren't any moving parts on the lever, I think my next step is to try and fabricate one from an acceptable bit of stock. That, of course, is not a convenient solution at all, so I'll also be keeping my eyeballs peeled for the holy grail aftermarket replacement as well.

Oh well. I just have to keep repeating my mantra:
