SZR exhaust header pipes

Postby Dullthud » Tue Jan 22, 2008 6:29 am

Hi All.

Does anyone know if the exhaust header pipes on a Sport are the same as those on a SZR? Is the route under the motor the same/similar/do-able?

While I'm at it, does anyone know where I could get hold of an exhaust can that might pass an MOT (UK) while still being less constrictive than the original?
thanks for any input.

All the best.

No, they are definitely not the same and they are not compatible. The routing of the left header is very different on the SZR and it will not fit past the frame tube of the MZ.
Both systems are the same size, however.
Why are you asking this? do you need replacements?

there is eactly one end can with E4 certificate expressly for the Skorpion, the BSM Future.

Thanks Bill.

I saw some going cheap and thought it might be easier to clean them up and then swap for the ones on the bike rather than bash knuckles trying to do them in situ. Mine are grubby old things but they still work fine.

Sorry it took so long to look back at your post. I kind of decided not to worry about it as I've bitten off enough to do on the bike and have far too little time to do it in. Shame.

All the best.
