ELECTRICAL PROBLEM RT125 BUT OF INTREST TO ALL MODELS

Postby DAVID THOMPSON » Mon Sep 05, 2005 9:10 pm

hello
rt125 had dim lights coming home tonight
sorted it out as a bad plug connector on the voltage regulator
the red and brown wires on the output of the voltage reg/rect. the plug number is x16b on the wireing drawing
it is located near the battery minus post
and should be inspected regulary i changed the battery in late june
and it was ok
it was a piece of trash had a replacement in my ham radio spairs

so check the plug guy's mine has 11.000 miles on it and lives in a very
damp river valley good idea to check them all as this can happen to any model any brand
ar dave :D

here is picture of the plug solder the ends of wire and place in plug RS 274680
in stock most radio shack stores ... leave rest in with tools for future repair

i also dribble hot candle wax on the connector to seal it from the weather

this is my favorite plug for fixing things
but always tin the wires with solder
