TS125 left hand crank seal

how do I get the left hand crank seal holder out? Just like the Haynes manual says, the ears of the circlip are too big and stop the circlip coming out. Do I have to use a dremel to trim the circlip? I want to replace the main bearing too but can't until the seal holder is out.
